5. Use good time management skills
Even if you are organized, time can be your worst enemy. Sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day, but if you have a plan for how to spend those hours you will have enough time to work and play. Make sure you tackle the hard stuff first; you’ll be able to work through the smaller task quickly. Another tip that helps is breaking larger projects into smaller task. Assign a deadline to each of the small parts; it’s easier to work with small parts.
Make sure you don’t fall behind. You lose critical points when you turn in assignments late and you definitely do not want to take an incomplete. Keep a calendar for turn in dates for all of your assignments so you turn them in on time. Keep all of your deadlines even if it means missing a party or event.
If you have breaks between classes use that time for study time; you can be more productive if you work during school time. Getting your work done during school hours allows you to switch your brain off and on (school time versus fun time).
Take breaks to reward yourself; plan a fun event, chat with your friends, or get out of the dorm for awhile.
