9 Pieces of College Advice I Wish I learned Four Years Ago

2. Not Everyone Going to College is Mature

You may be very mature and determined to study hard, do your homework and do well in college, but there are plenty of people there who are just going to party, skip classes and get into trouble. These are not the people you want to hang around with if you want to be successful. They will only cause a lot of drama and trouble and likely fail or get kicked out of college. Instead, find the ones that want to do things the right way. You can have fun of course, but stay seriously engaged in your classes as well.

3. Decide which classes need the most work

While it’s of course important to pass all of your required classes in order to get your degree and graduate, some classes are going to be more important to do well in than others. For instance, which ones are you the most interested in? Which ones are the ones that are going to require the most studying and which do you find easier? You have to budget your time accordingly. Don’t skip the ones you hate, as you never know if you will need that professor to write a recommendation, but power through and get the job done.
