9 Pieces of College Advice I Wish I learned Four Years Ago

6. Consider Taking an Extra Class Each Semester

Most students are told that about 12 semester hours are a full schedule. However, it’s not a bad idea to try to take an extra class each semester if you can handle the load. That way you can get some of your prerequisites out of the way or even take an elective you are interested in more easily. The facts are that you are still going to have time to have some fun, go on spring break or be home for the holidays, so use your time wisely and get the real work done! Maybe you could even graduate early depending on the number of extra hours you are able to take.

7. You Are Going to Drift Apart From Friends Back Home

Like it or not, most college students end up drifting apart from the people they went to school with or knew in their home towns. All of you are becoming adults and are heading off into the real world and have your own lives to deal with. You may end up staying in touch or keeping that one true friend, but for the most part don’t feel like it is your fault if you lose some of the old high school buddies you had before.
